Well Preserved 1958 BMW R50 Motorcycle Running for the First Time After 35 Years

A few years ago Peter Nettesheim, a skillful BMW expert and dedicated collector, got a newly inherited 1958 BMW R50 motorcycle and enthusiastically tried to restart it after thirty five years.

It is successfully started in thirty minutes after sitting for thirty five years without being run. The 58' BMW is powered by 494cc OHV horizontally-opposed twin engine with a claimed power of 26hp @ 5,800 rpm and with a top speed of 87mph. It weighs 429Ib (195kg).
