I am a long time Harley rider. All my Harleys have had aftermarket exhausts. It used to be that Harley's own Screamin Eagle pipes sounded pretty good, but that is no longer the case. 90+ percent of the reason Harleys appeal to me is their sound and feel. A motorcycle should sound and feel like a motorcycle. If you want smooth and quiet, get a Honda, or an electric bike. As for "legal" that is just bullshit. Just more of our rights they are trying to take away form us. Fortunately for me, where I live, almost all Harleys have aftermarket pipes, and the cops ignore them. In fact, many cops ride Harleys themselves.
