7.0 liter, 625 hp Ruffian Mustang + 580 hp Ruffian GT40
Fueled by a passion for Seventies Mustangs and the adrenaline-fueled world of Trans-Am racing, Chris Ashton, co-founder and design director at Turtle Rock Studios, embarked on a mission to handcraft a vintage race car for the open road. However, Chris, an avid autocrosser, insisted that functionality be paramount in his creation.
Enter the Mustang, a testament to analog techniques and traditional craftsmanship. Sporting massive rubber—315mm upfront and a hefty 345mm at the rear—all snugly wrapped in the grippy embrace of Toyo R888R track tires, this beast demanded bespoke three-inch steel fender flares, hand-formed by Chris himself, to accommodate its aggressive stance. Beneath the hood roars a carbureted LS427, GM's aluminum-blocked 7.0-liter powerhouse, now tuned to unleash a staggering 625 horsepower and approximately 560 lb-ft of torque.
In stark contrast, the GT40 represents a fusion of modern methodology and cutting-edge components. Yet, despite its contemporary pedigree, Chris's meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering dedication permeate every inch of the vehicle. Powered by the formidable Ford Racing 52XS V8 engine, boasting an impressive 580 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque, the GT40's custom headers and intricately crafted octopus equal length exhaust weave a mesmerizing symphony of metalwork, amplifying its classic Americana roar to perfection.
If you're an automotive enthusiast, you'll love to see Chris Ashton's relentless pursuit of automotive excellence, seamlessly blending heritage with innovation to create masterpieces that pay homage to the golden era of automotive performance while embracing the advancements of the present day. Enjoy watching and have a nice day.
