In today's educational and information-filled video, Bruce embarks on a journey to revive an old vintage Wabco Haulpack Dump Truck, equipped with a powerful V12 Supercharged Detroit Diesel GM engine, which has been retired from the quarry and left dormant for many years.

These robust 2-stroke diesels were once the heart of early earthmoving equipment, with this particular 12v71 GM boasting an impressive 852 cubic inches and 425 horsepower at the flywheel. Known for their distinctive sound, these supercharged 2-stroke diesel GM "screaming jimmy" engines powered various makes and models of trucks and heavy machinery worldwide across several decades. The massive V12 Detroit diesel features a mechanical roots-style blower prominently positioned atop the engine. While commonly referred to as a supercharger in Australia, its primary function in this application isn't to introduce "boost" into the cylinders but rather to assist in expelling exhaust gases.

These iconic 2-stroke GM Diesels or Detroit Diesels once dominated a wide array of heavy machinery, transportation, and marine applications for nearly half a century. Despite their decreasing prevalence, we believe they hold significant historical value and should be preserved whenever feasible, hence Bruce's noble attempt to breathe life back into Wally Wabco.

Observing his dedication to reviving this old beast and witnessing it roar back to life is incredibly gratifying! It's inspiring to see someone pursuing their passion with such fervor and skill. Take a look at this too! You will definitely like it! Enjoy watching and have a nice day.
