Mad Max Fan Recreates Original Interceptor Car

Michigan born Dale Walter fell in love with the powerful vehicle when he watched George Miller's seminal film over thirty years ago in a tiny theatre.

The famous car has featured in several films in the Mad Max franchise, including the latest MadMad: Fury Road, which stars British actor Tom Hardy in the title role.

In 2008, Dale commissioned specialist company Mad Max Cars to convert his 1972 Australian Ford Falcon into the iconic Interceptor — a process which took five years and $AU160,000.

Dale's car, which has an incredible 450 horse power, is the mirror image of the vehicle from the original 1979 movie and is even fitted with a police PA system.
